In Remembrance Of Prodigy

This week, we lost one of the best to ever do it, one half of a group that was also the best to ever do it. Mobb Deep was able to transport a kid born and raised in California right into the hallways of Queensbridge before the Internet allowed you to go almost anywhere via Google Maps. The mobb painted a very graphic picture of where they were from and what they were about. While Hav was no slouch on the mic, it was Prodigy who would come to be inserted into many a top 5 or top 10 discussion and be respected amongst his peers as a formidable wordsmith.

I could bring up a ton of different Mobb or P joints, but Prodigy’s Albert Einstein project with Alchemist stands out because even in 2013, P was able to come back to the game with the fire of a rookie, not to mention Alchemist on the boards for songs like “Bible Paper”.

Of course, I had to include a classic “G.O.D. Pt. III” with that insane Scarface soundtrack flip. Thank you, Mobb Deep. Thank you, P.
