I’ve been following Stalley’s progress for some time and I have to admit I was a little bit torn up about him signing to MMG at first, naturally assuming his vulnerability, consciousness and sincerity would be lost amidst the flash and pomp of his label-mates. To the contrary, MMG has been letting Stalley be his own man, as shown by the texture of Honest Cowboy, with its decidedly limited MMG influence. With mixtapes this well-rounded, who needs an LP?
